Maggie Rogers has just released her first EP – Now That the Light Is Fading, and we love every part of it. Started as a music student at New York University, recently she became known all over the world. How? First of all, because she’s that good, another minor detail that helped in all this breakthrough was that Pharrell Williams visited her school to check out the new talents. In an interview for NPR music magazine, Maggie said she was just lucky enough to show up at school that day.
The first song on the EP – Color Song, sounds more like traditional folk as we know it, with birds chirping in the background and Maggie’s multitracked choral vocals. While Alaska is much more uplifting and R&B. Same thing could be said about On + Off, also it’s a bit more electronic, flume-like. Check all five tracks on Spotify or any other platform.
